Through it's leaders and compassionate members who have been through, survived and prospered after similar situations the group provides support during its' two meetings each month that include interesting topics, discussions and sharing. On occasion professional speakers are invited to lead these discussions. The goal is to help members cope with day to day issues or learn about interesting and relevant current events. In addition, the group organizes many fun, interesting and educational events and outings to provide social interaction among members. From dinners, happy hours and day trips to organized planned vacations members make new friends, share fun activities and begin to build a new exciting social life.
This is a warm and caring group of sincere people who have created a community that supplies generous support and friendship not only to its' members, but also gives support to local needy causes that come to its' attention.
First time visitors are offered an orientation and sharing meeting guided by one of the long time group leaders.

With the help of a support group you can gain a sense of control or empowerment over your current situation. This can help to improve your coping skills and to talk openly and honestly about feelings.
Participating in our group discussions and outings provides you with the opportunity to make new friends and to be with people who are likely to have a common purpose that allows them to understand your situation. Benefits in joining a support group include feeling less lonely, isolated or judged.
